a new beginning

well, after a while of dabbling with another blog that i have, i’ve decided to start a new one and take a bit of a different tone with it.  i would describe myself as well-intentioned, but also very opinionated – two qualities that perhaps don’t mix well – and i foresee this blog as being a reflection of this side of my personality.

i welcome comments and discussions, as long as they are respectful of other opinions and perspectives: it’s ok to have an opinion, but you have to realize that other people can have theirs, too!  (i’ll try to remember this as well).

i guess i should also perhaps explain why i like to write.  well, for one thing, i’d like to think that i’m good at expressing myself in written form.  (my grammar and such is much better when i’m writing formally… i figure in a blog, i can forget the fact that most of my thoughts are sentence fragments and that i have comma splices galore) in any case, i’m also trying to be an agent of social change.  through my experience in the baha’i faith – through trying to improve myself and at the same time do good for humanity – i’ve come to understand that we have to use whatever God-given talents and abilities we have to contribute to society.  over the past two years, i’d stopped writing… but now, i have stuff to say. and i’d like to get it out there, perhaps it will be of use to someone.  if not, well, at least i can say that i tried
